Markham is a great place to work, live, raise a family and conduct business. It is the 2nd largest tech region in Canada, home to IBM, GE Energy, Toshiba, Lenovo, Huawei Technologies, and many other tech giants.

These companies provide thousands of jobs to local residents who reinvest their earnings into the community, making Markham a thriving city with many opportunities for everyone.

Markham is also known for its rich history and cultural diversity. Over half the population identify as visible minorities, with the majority of those being Chinese.

Markham covers a large area north of Toronto, adjacent to Vaughan and Richmond Hill, Ontario. As of 2022, its population was 359,884, an increase of around 4% from 5 years earlier, representing one of the slowest lowest growth rates in the GTA during this time.

This is set to change over the new few years however, as a new 10-story York University – Markham campus is under construction right now. This facility will employ hundreds of staff and educate thousands of students every year, pushing the demand for housing and other amenities up exponentially. The university is scheduled to open for fall classes in 2023.

If you want to buy in Markham, contact Caryn Parchment, a skilled Century 21 Real Estate Agent in Markham now. Although there are some new homes under construction, with the increased demand coming soon, the new builds and existing homes for sale in Markham won’t be available for long.

There are many public transit options in the city as well. York Region Transit runs 40 routes throughout the city, many of which connect to other parts of York Region, and some to Toronto.
